Modern life is busy and, whilst we'd all prefer to shop locally, it's not always easy to find the time.
This means that we rarely have the opportunity to build relationships with our local businesses any more. There was a time when a town's high street was the hub of any local community - you would know the shops and shopkeepers, and they'd know you. ShopIOM hopes to rebuild that community feeling by giving you access to the best that the Isle of Man has to offer on a platform we like to think of as a 'virtual high street' where you can visit businesses and find products you didn’t know were available on your doorstep.
The ShopIOM directory allows you to browse by category and find out about different retailers on the Isle of Man. Once you’ve found a business in our listings you can, in many cases, click straight through to their individual online shop and browse further or make an immediate purchase.
For those who prefer a more traditional shopping experience, many featured businesses also have bricks-and-mortar locations on the Isle of Man. Each business in our directory has a profile page with full address and contact details. Some retailers may only have an online shop but their websites will feature full descriptions and pictures to ensure you can find exactly what you’ve been looking for - maybe even provide you with a surprise or two!
The Island's independent retail sector is of immense importance to our local economy, providing both residents and visitors to our beautiful island with a varied and unique shopping experience. It provides valuable jobs and adds to the vibrancy of our towns and villages, and we want ShopIOM to reflect this. We want ShopIOM to become a valuable part of our Island community.
